Today we’ll spend time talking about the creative process and the habits necessary for artistic growth and development, like filling your creative well, self examination, preferences, and procrastination. This can change your whole creative trajectory!
Day 4 (Thursday) : Mindsets for the Artist, Technique Demo
Our perspectives shape everything we think, say, and do, so it’s very important to make sure we’re staying healthy in this area so we don’t sabotage our creativity. Negativity and false truths are the most common mental setbacks, and can be subtle as well as bold, Let’s talk about the differences and how to spot them, and apply that to ourselves and our artwork.
Day 5 (Friday) : Kicking Perfectionism to the Curb, Let’s Paint!
Let’s infuse our painting with freedom today and integrate some new mindsets while we work to create a fun piece with lots of drama and fun.
Day 6-7 (Saturday-Sunday) : Filling Your Creative Well, Painting Session
This weekend, set aside time to fill your creative well with at least one artist’s date. Options can include a hike, visit a museum, walk around town, go to a park, anything that can inspire a fresh perspective and provide a spark for a new painting. Then make at least a couple of small paintings over the weekend with your new perspectives and inspiration.
Day 8 (Monday) : Overview, Experimental Demo
Let’s expand once more before we wrap up with some experimental watercolors that you can make yourself, to personalize your own work in new ways.
See What Others Have To Say:
“Where have you been all my life? I thought I would learn a few new tricks of the trade, I had no clue I would experience a complete paradigm shift in my thoughts and in my approach to my painting."
"Loving the [course] and feel that I am learning, growing, letting go of lots of hesitancy...I have no doubt you reached right into the deepest part of folks inner world with the gentlest of invitation, [allowing] them to free up and release their shoulders and open their hearts to their own worth."
"You really helped me to see I can do loose work in watercolor and enjoy it. The emotional/mental part of your teaching was so very helpful."
"Today was so beneficial. The way we worked up to the final work helped. The meditation made me cry just to give myself permission to do this and appreciate that I am an artist."
"I was in an anxious fearful place with my painting. I had so much fun yesterday! It brought back why I used to love this. I was dancing around singing, 'I'm so excited' this morning in anticipation."
